John I was always impressed with the style of the vintage Vespas and their almost avant-garde look and feel. The first Vespa (and indeed first scooter) I ever saw close up was a candy red restored 69 and from that moment on I knew I would have to own at least one scooter. Ten years later and working too many hours at a bankrupting company some of my vacation was bought out and I had scooters on the mind. I ended up buying a barely used Vino 125 thinking "If I don't like it, someone will buy it!" Since that day several years ago I have ridden nearly every chance I get. Days of snow and ice bring about Scooter withdrawal and depression. Any back road is worth scooting and warm weather is never here soon enough. Decking out my scoot for parades has to be one of the most enjoyable things ever! One of these days I am sure I will make my way onto a Vespa but until that day comes I will be happy to scoot on "little blue." |
