I had a Vespa 50cc two stroke as a teen, and didn't get back into scoots until recently...now I can't get enough of the darn thing.  Will ride it anywhere, anytime, any weather condition (have ridden in rain, snow, cold, blazing summer sun).  My Kymco has been somewhat problematic in the short time I've owned it, so I am gonna upgrade sometime soon.  I am happy to be living back in PA, so no more 135 mile scoots to be with TMISC...just a quick hop to the Cornerstone, a quick cup of java, gas up the scoot, and ride.  Pick a verdant valley, steep hill, or a touge (pronounced toe-geh...Japanese for winding mountain road)...be one with your fellow scooterists.  It's good to be home.  Man Your BattleStations.
